The drive to the Aleenta makes one thing clear – this is an isolated resort. But this is fundamental to the resort – a collection of unique and stylish rooms set on the beach where the biggest intrusion is the noise of the waves (this is a child and television free resort).
The Aleenta has quietly built-up it’s reputation, and once previously the reserve of those ‘in the know’, the secret has escaped (and been oft-copied – this was the first hotel we knew to have in room iPods – a de rigeur room accessory these days) and the Aleenta has now opened a sister hotel north of Phuket.
However, the exceptionally quiet (and beautiful) location means that the resort still does not feel busy, and the standards have certainly not dropped at the excellent restaurant (in an al fresco rooftop setting) and exceptional spa. The Aleenta is popular – Pool Suites are particularly coveted, so with just 15 rooms early booking is particularly recommended.
